What I’m Currently Watching #33: Game of Thrones

Howdy ladies and gents, and welcome to What I’m Currently Watching where I give you a tiny update on what TV-based stuff I’m watching and give mini reviews/impressions on them. This is week 33, and today I’ll be giving you my late thoughts on the latest episode of Game of Thrones which will include spoilers! With that out of the way let’s talk about some TV! 😀

Game of Thrones (Season 7) “The Spoils of War”

Wow, just wow. That episode of GoT was frigging insane and yes I am primarily talking about the ending. This and the last episode has some of the best material of all of the series! But before I get to that let me talk about the other highlights. First and foremost the Stark kids are together in Winterfell! Hooray!!!!! I have never been so happy. It was a bittersweet reunion for Bran and Sansa, but seeing Arya come back to her home and finally see her sister again, that was wonderful. Both of them have been through a lot and don’t really know each other because of how their life experiences have changed them into hardened badasses in different ways. Their interaction felt a little cold, and yet so warm because of their connection as not only sisters but as a family too. And then seeing her finally see Bran was great, all of the Stark kids together, that was perfect. It is great to see them all together after all of the hardship they had faced individually, and it was nice to have Bran use his abilities of vision to highlight Arya’s plan to kill people, it not only allowed her to see how different and knowledgeable Bran had become but also allow Sansa to take Arya’s words more seriously after their first interaction. After that one of my favourite moments in all of GoT happened, the Arya and Brienne sparring session. I also enjoy Brienne and Podrick’s training sessions, but to see her actually put in the effort and duke it out with someone of a certain skill level is much better, so to see two of my favourite badasses going head to head was fantastic. Both had different skills and techniques, but were accomplished fighters and to see how Arya came in with such confidence and swagger and surprise not only Brienne, but also Pod, and Sansa and Littlefinger watching from above was sweet. Then we got to see these two proper go at it and to see Arya’s quick and elegant movements against Brienne’s power and force was awesome. I think I got a little turned on by the end of that exchange hahaha! XD But seriously it was kick ass, and clearly Sansa was shocked and possibly displeased with the way her sister had turned out, but clearly Littlefinger enjoyed every minute and I think that crafty man has some plans in that head of his. Jon and Daenerys’ moments at Dragonstone was interested with the discovery of the Dragonglass and the Children of the Forest carvings of the fight against the White Walkers, I thought Daenerys was gonna be cool and join Jon’s fight, but she’s still trying to get my man to bend the knee? Crazy bitch, she needs to cut that out. I also really hope that those two don’t hook up, they were getting too close to each other in that cave and Davos’ words to Jon didn’t help. If they do end up together then, cool, whatever, incest is a thing in this show, but I would like for them to know about their heritage before they form a romantic or sexual relationship.

Okay so let’s talk about that final act/last quarter of the episode with Daenerys’ attack on the Lannister and Tarly armies. I knew that Daenerys wouldn’t listen to reason and go into the battlefield eventually but holy crap, I didn’t expect her to literally just unleash the Dothraki and one of her dragons on the Lannister and Tarly armies. That was pure insanity! The way that whole thing was set up was wonderful, Bronn heard them coming from a distance and the build up with Jaime and Bronn having to get the soldiers set up as you could hear the Dothraki in the background. The tension and build up were fabulous, and the way the Dothraki just emerged over the hill like a legion of badasses was really cool, but then it was Daenerys and Droan flying in which turned the scene into a moment of TV to remember. From there what followed was just beautiful chaos. All of the stabbing, cutting, slicing, blood and death, there was death on both sides, but it was clearly a massacre for Jaime as Drogan just destroyed everything and everyone. The way the action sequences were crafted was incredible, the wide shots of pure fiery destruction were perfect. I was also glad that Bronn not only survived his encounter with that Dothraki after his horseback duel failed, but he also got to use the huge crossbow and damaged Drogan. Damn, that was a good win for him, but then the crossbow got destroyed, gutted. But Jaime, holy crap I thought it was the end for him when he attempted to take down Daenerys, the dude almost got eaten or burnt alive! Luckily he was saved, by who? I think it may have been Bronn, but I guess we’ll see next week!

Well, that’s what I’ve been watching. So have you seen or plan to watch any of these shows? If you have any thoughts be sure to drop a comment below and let me know what TV shows you’re currently watching too. Until next time, laters! 😀

What I’m Currently Watching #32

Howdy ladies and gents, and welcome to What I’m Currently Watching where I give you a tiny update on what TV-based stuff I’m watching and give mini reviews/impressions on them. This is week 32, and it has been a hella long time since I did one of these reviews, I apologise but hopefully, I’ll be getting back to more of these over the summer. Anyway today I’ll be giving you my late thoughts on Bojack HorsemanCastlevania and iZombie., oh and my more recent thoughts on Game of Thrones which will include spoilers! With that out of the way let’s talk about some TV! 😀

Bojack Horseman (Season 1)

Some of you may be surprised to know that I haven’t seen this show sooner, however, this show was one of those that you look at from a distance and you say “I don’t like the look of this.” For whatever reason, the look of the show didn’t appeal to me and the fact that there was such a level of hype surrounding it made it hard to approach. And so even though I have plenty of TV to start or catch up on, Bojack Horseman I wanted to watch because of the short episode length and easy accessibility because of Netflix. So I finished season 1 days ago and I have to say that I am surprised by how much I liked this show, and while it is no Regular Show or South Park in terms of the way it grabbed my interest, there’s something strangely addictive about the show’s premise and characters especially in the latter half of the season. The show starts out okay with the world, characters and stories that take place in this weird version of reality where humans and anthropomorphic animals coincide together, it is all very strange, loose, kind of funny but not consistently engaging. That being said the absurdity of the story involving the main characters kept me coming back. But once the show made its dramatic turn towards the latter side of the series it hooked me and became a far more engaging show. I love everyone in the cast especially Will Arnett who is just great as Bojack, and I also love Alison Brie and Aaron Paul too.

Castlevania (Season 1)

So around two weeks ago, I watched the new Castlevania show on Netflix and you know what? It’s alright. While I understand some people’s grievances with the show I still enjoyed it for the most part and wanted to see more. The show basically tells the story of the omnipotent Dracula, the questionable Catholic church, the passive Seekers and determined monster slayer Trevor Belmont. It has to be said upfront that fans of the games will get the most of this show, while the show does have a good few unique elements that allow it to be seen by people who have never played the games, there are certain elements borrowed from the games like Castlevania 3 that will enhance your experience if you know the mythology and references. At first, I wasn’t sure I was going to like the show because of the initial focus on Dracula and some of the dialogue, story and character material wasn’t that engaging. However, after a certain incident goes down, things pick up quickly and what follows is a story of mystery, corruption, intrigue and danger. Now I’ve heard complaints put towards the show specifically when it comes to the writing, animation and short length, and those points are all valid. Firstly some of the dialogue just felt awkward or unrealistic, the story’s focus and flow felt off at times and it also felt like certain key details in the story were either touched upon at surface level or were skipped entirely and it could have gone a long way to making the show better. The presentation was a mixed bag. The music for the show was awesome, but the visual side of things was dodgy. Some of the art was very nice, though I would have preferred a different art style as the anime influenced style isn’t handled as well as the Japanese studios. At times the show can look pretty, but other times not so much. The animation can look so choppy and lazy especially during certain talking scenes or in fight scenes which lack charisma, style and fluid motion. And finally the length of the show is very short with each episode ranging from 22-27 minutes and since the show does a lot of setting up and foreshadowing it feels incomplete, like the first chapter in a larger book. In the end, I would say if you’re curious to give the show a watch, it can be fun at times but it may not be what you’re looking for if you want to get into this franchise, play the games instead.

iZombie (Season 1)

Okay here we are again haha, for those unaware I started reviewing iZombie back in 2015, I really liked it, but I, unfortunately, fell off at the start of season 2 and have been meaning to rewatch it for while especially after I noticed online how much of a following the show’s gotten since 3 started. So the show follows a girl who gets into a zombie and needs to eat brains in order to keep her intelligence/human side intact, however, a side effect is that she can see the memories of the people she eats and so with that information she helps the Seattle police department solve murder cases. The show’s a police procedural drama mixed in with horror, humour and That’s So Raven and a bit of Castle. It is an odd mix when you say it out loud but it works. The show takes a unique approach to zombies not only in the way in which they are created but also how they act and affect the plot and human characters too. Like a lot of police shows, each episode has a case of the week, however, there is an overarching storyline that is always relevant. Tonally the show can be lighthearted, witty and funny with good writing and good pop culture references, but the show can also be dark, dramatic and emotional when tackling issues with relationships between friends and family, love, secrets and lies and the morals and ethics surrounding life and death. The core elements that I enjoy so much is the humour, action and characters, and the main cast is great with my favourites being Malcolm Goodwin’s no nonsense/cool Clive Babineaux, the ever funny and quirky Rahul Kohli as Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, David Anders’ mysterious, cool and dangerous as Blaine and of course Rose McIver as Olivia “Liv” Moore who is so beautiful, fun, likeable and because of the different brains it allows McIver to act in a variety of ways.

 iZombie (Season 2) Episodes 1-4

So far I’m really enjoying the second season of this show, I’m only 4 episodes in but I’m really liking it so far. The show feels consistent with whats come before and picks up where last season left off when it comes to the fallout and changes to the status quo for the key characters in this show. And though there’s been a bit of a time jump it still feels like the events of season 1’s finale are felt and dealt with in this season. Plus the show shakes some things up by placing the recurring cast in new situations which challenges and affects them greatly, but there are also new characters who have roles of varying significance but they certainly leave an impact.

Game of Thrones (Season 7) “Stormborn”

After a pretty cool set episode last week, “Strormborn” kept the good stuff coming with cool character moments, intriguing conversations and some solid action towards the end. Firstly I liked seeing Daenerys and her allies together discussing what to do with Cersei and King’s Landing, I like how they all had their own ways attacking the place, but it was ultimately Tyrion’s strategic plan of placing the armies in different locations that got them on board. I’m curious after Daenerys’ conversation with Olenna Tyrell whether she will betray Tyrion or dismiss his advice in the future. I was also fearful for Varys, Daenerys wasn’t keen on the idea of him serving him considering that he’s switched alliances so many times in the past, but he did give a good argument as to why he should be kept around, and considering how smart, knowledgeable and loyal he has been, I think he’d be a solid ally to have at this point in the game. I’m just going to briefly touch on the Jorah and Sam stuff, firstly poor Jorah, I don’t like the idea of him turning into a monster, but alas that’s the hand fate has dealt him for the time being. And secondly while I’m glad Sam’s here to attempt to get rid of the greyscale, just seeing the removal of it was horrible, so filth and unsettling to watch. 😦 I’m also curious to see how things will turn out for Jon Snow with him accepting the invitation to meet Daenerys at Dragonstone, I really hope it’s not a trap because I don’t want all the allied houses at Winterfell to be right. While I understand Sansa and everyone else’s point of view, risks need to be taken at this point regardless of the end result.

It was also great to see Arya again after her moment of sheer badassery last week, here we got to see her reunite with Hot Pie for the first time in a while and it was a nice catch up, seeing her face when he told her about Jon’s current status as King of the North made me happy but sad at the same time. I guess she’s changed her mission to take out Cersei for the time being, I just hope she doesn’t get killed. Oh and that moment with her direwolf, heartbreaking yo. And for those who said last week’s episode was boring with no action well here’s the good stuff that you love. Euron comes out of nowhere with the Iron Fleet and attacks Yara, Theon, Ellaria and the Sand Snakes, that was crazy. The battle was intense there was a lot of blood and stabbing and carnage and it looked beautiful with the lighting and colours standing out well. As for Theon deciding to jump ship (literally), it left me wondering one of a few options: 1) He’s a coward. 2) The dude’s seen the horror’s of battle and it’s mentally too much for him to take. Or 3) He’s bailing because he’ll come back to save his sister later. I’m sure most will assume the reason is number 1 but I’d like to think it’s more along the lines of number 2.

Well, that’s what I’ve been watching. So have you seen or plan to watch any of these shows? If you have any thoughts be sure to drop a comment below and let me know what TV shows you’re currently watching too. Until next time, laters! 😀

TV Shows That Makes You Wanna Shout!

Howdy ladies and gents, time for a quick and random blog post. Today I was watching the latest episode of Grimm (which was pretty good by the way) and it got me thinking about TV shows and how one reacts to them. Everyone has their own ways of reacting to the stuff that they see on TV, and much like when you’re in the cinema there are things that make you wanna laugh, gasp, cry or shout, and today I want to talk about some of the shows in opinion that make you want to shout.

For me I enjoying watching TV with other people but at the same time I love to watch it alone because I’m fully engaged and have the ability to shout out my thoughts at the TV/computer screen as I do like to react to shows by shouting. Whether it telling a character that they’re an idiot or giving a victory cry when someone saves the day, I love to make noise when I’m watching certain shows haha. So here’s some of the shows I’ve reacted to loudly:

Grimm

grimm-season5-poster141012

Like I previously mentioned, I was watching Grimm today and that inspired this blog post. More than a lot of other shows, I normally am commenting on a good few things that I see as they happen. So when some unexpected human looks like they’ll be killed by a monster I’ll be there like “Don’t do it, don’t go in there.” And when said person gets attacked I’ll say “Ah shit man, that person got fucked up yo!” Or it could be like a massive revelation related to a character or storyline and I’ll be like “Damn! This show is getting good now!” Grimm just gets me so excited and giddy that I just have to make my feelings known by shouting them out when I’m watching the episodes.

The Flash

flash-poster-2

As I’ve mentioned in my early thoughts on The Flash episode, this show reminds me a lot of Spider-Man in terms of the tone, sense of fun and types of superhero and personal drama that he faces in the ongoing storylines. And on several occasions the show has made me react loudly whether it was the whole Barry and his relationship issues or Harrison Wells in season 1, time travel, Zoom in season 2 or anything cool thing that Cisco does, this show makes me very happy. 🙂

Fringe

fringe-poster-season4

Fringe is one of those shows that has gotten so much emotion out of me that’s its ridiculous. Never have I been more invested emotionally in a show then I was with this one and most times it was in relation to either the dramatic character moments between the main characters like Oliver, Peter and Walter or when some of the crazy science fiction elements of the world kicked in or if I was able to spot an Observer without an online guide, you’d normally see/hear from me. 😛

Parks and Recreation

Parks and Recreation Poster

This show is very special to me in the sense that it’s the first show since Fringe that got me get so emotionally invested, but more in a positive way than a next a negative way. The people of Pawnee are some of the most fun, interesting and down-to-earth people, but they’re also beyond completely weird and foolish as well, and just seeing these characters interact and unction in their daily lives can lead to a lot of “What the hell?” Or more likely just a lot of laughing because the show is hella funny and any time Lesley, Ron, Tom and of course Andy are on-screen, they’re normally doing something that makes laugh a lot.

Game of Thrones

GameOfThrones-Season5-Poster

But the show that’s gotten the most vocal reactions from me is GoT and if you’ve seen the show then you obviously know why.  Whether it be violent, sexual or something else entirely, nothing is quite as unique and shout-worthy as this show. When I saw the Red Wedding, like damn, I could make any noise because it was like 2 or 3am in the morning, but there was a lot of internal gasping and feeling of shock at what I saw. But GoT not content with just shocking me a few times through season 1-3 continued in the following two seasons with notable character deaths, fight sequences, dragons, and unfortunately rape as well. My hate for Joffrey Lannister and Ramsay Bolton has caused me to shout at my laptop on multiple occasions and when I’ve lost one of my favourite characters something along the lines of this occurs, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Come on man! WHY!?!”

And that’s in for now, I mean I could have written about Breaking Bad, Agent Carter, Boardwalk Empire and a good few others, however then we’d be here for ages so I thought I’d keep it short. 😛 So ladies and gents, is there any TV that makes you wanna shout? Please leave your thoughts in the comments below and I’ll see ya on the next post, laters! 😀

My Top 6 Highlights From San Diego Comic-Con

san-diego-comic-con-logo

Howdy ladies and gents, time for some frigging news and recaps! So over the past weekend San Diego Comic-Con went down and it was a pretty crazy session with a good number of stories that dropped online. There was so much news not only for films, but also for TV and comics and I wasn’t able to see it all because I was at work. 😦 This was the first year for a while when I was working during the actual event so a lot of stories dropped while I was at work and I didn’t find out about it until I got out at 2am UK time which SUCKED! So rather than trying to talk about everything I’m just going to talk about my highlights from the convention. Oh by the way I will be talking about the leaked trailer for certain films but I won’t be showing the trailers because I don’t want my blog posts being shut down. 😛

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Trailer

It was kind of given that this would be the first topic of conversation and probably the biggest highlight, but it’s hard not to be hyped for this film now. I will say that I’m not going gaga over this trailer, some fans have been losing the frigging minds over this, but that’s not me. I do like this trailer a lot, but some of my concerns about the film still stand but I’ll get into that later.

I’m going to do a mini review of the trailer and keep my thoughts brief. All in all, the more I see from this film, the more hyped I get. This film is looking better with each new reveal, I love how they’ve tied BvS into Man of Steel by putting Bruce Wayne right in the thick of the chaos that went down when Superman fought Zod, and having been a witness to the destruction and death that happened, Bruce now has a reason not only to hate Superman but also to resurface as the Batman. I also like how Superman is being handled, the world is split on him, some love him and some hate him, and he’s also being held accountable for the damage he caused and is being brought to court (where’s Matt Murdock when you need him :P). Everything about this film is looking pretty cool, the story is looking good, I’m liking the character motivations and dilemmas, the action looks kick ass and very Snyder-like (super stylish and crazy) and there’s a lot of cool quotes being thrown around too. That being said I did think the trailer felt a little crowded especially with the appearances of Wonder Woman (still wondering how she fits into this film), also I’m not over the moon about Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor (though that red capes line is hilarious) or Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman (notice how there was no dialogue for her), I’m still waiting to be wowed. Otherwise all you need to know is that my general consensus is that I’m really looking forward to this film and I want it now.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Panel & Behind-The-Scenes Footage

While I’m not the biggest Star Wars nerd ever, my love for the films and the franchise as a whole is undeniable and I’m so hyped for The Force Awakens and the panel just gave me more confidence in the cast and crew behind hit. Hearing the answers from JJ Abrams, Lawrence Kasdan and Kathleen Kennedy given by fans and the host made me feel so at ease and just reconfirmed my hopes for the film. It also helped that the cast both new and old are so charming, down to earth and excited for the film to be released.

But then that behind-the-scenes video was the part that really got me giddy. Take a look:

There is just too much to mention. Hardcore SW fans must be having a field day picking apart the footage for me I just loved seeing these on-set locations whether they were exterior or interior, I loved the concept art and the practical animatronics and the lighting used for the darker scenes during filming. I like the stormtroopers, I love the explosions, the sets look incredibly detailed and big, and seeing the cast’s enthusiasm for the film is infectious especially from Simon Pegg. I think Mark Hamill said it best, “Everything’s changed but nothing’s changed, that’s the way you want it to be really.” It truly seemed like the filmmakers want to bring fans back to the beginning of the series but modernize it and I’m hyped.

Deadpool Trailer

Deadpool-Trailer

It feels like this film has been in development for AGES, for the longest time it was all just talk and hoping that a Deadpool film would happen, but it’s actually happening and it’s still kind of surreal. But seeing the trailer in action just put things in perspective and I know now that Deadpool, so far, looking awesome and I want it now! Now I will say that I watched the leaked trailer online, but hey if you’re not at Comic-Con and its online, you have to watch it right? So I took a peek and it looks just as mad as I had hoped. There are jokes galore, breaking the fourth wall, references to other superhero films, violence and action and at the center of it there’s just this wonderful sense of madness and fun. I loved the use of DMX in the trailer, Ryan Reynolds is on top form with this role and I like TJ Miller too. I’m totally down for this film.

Suicide Squad Trailer

SuicideSquad-cast

I was actually really hyped up when this leaked online. I know it’s not good to hope for exclusive film footage to drop online, but when you’re not an attendee of fancy events like these it is great to get to see something cool ( even if it is a bit blurry and out of frame. What I will say about the Suicide Squad trailer is that it felt right, it felt so right. I know only the tiniest bit of info about them from the source material, but from what I know about them they seem correct. I love the tone, it’s serious, but not too dark, I love the look of the film, the use of colour, lighting and action looks nice too, plus the cast look pretty badass especially Amanda Waller, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc and the Joker too. I also liked the references to Man of Steel creating a sense of continuity and this film feels like the starting point of expanding the DC cinematic universe in a really good way.

UPDATE: Here’s the official trailer:

X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer

xmen_apocalypse_poster

This was the last leaked trailer that I saw because it was a little more recent and again I was glad it found its way online because it looks awesome! I’ve heard people talk about this trailer online, but you can only imagine how they feel when you haven’t seen the footage yourself, but after seeing this trailer I can understand the hype. X-Men: Apocalypse looks like it could well be the best X-Men film yet, the sense of disaster, dread and end of the world kind of tone can be felt all over this trailer. I’m really liking how in this film, it seems like the film is progressing when it comes to the looks of the characters when it comes to the costumes, hair and make-up. Characters like Storm, Nightcrawler and Professor X look really great, but Apocalypse was the real surprise, Oscar Isaac was shown right there in full make-up and costume and he looked SO beastly and unrecognisable. I just like some of the stuff they’ve carried over from First Class and Days of Future Past into this one, I’m just in a proper good mood to see this film.

Game of Thrones Panel

And finally we have the Game of Thrones panel, while nothing too significant got revealed, I just found it entertaining to watch as 2015 has found me at the peak of my GoT hype and since I’ve never watched a panel on this show I found it really fun, interesting and surprising too. I’ve not really seen many of the cast for the show outside of their characters besides Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Gwendoline Christie, so it was firstly just fascinating to see them all talk in their normal accents and interact in a more relaxed and playful manner. i liked hearing about the cast’s experience doing season 5 and answering some of the questions that fans gave. Though I thought Conleth Hill was the highlight of the panel and stole the show, his normal speaking voice was so much more manly than expected, but beyond that the guy is just hilarious, he cracked so many jokes and said a lot of humourous things, Hill just seems like the best kind of guy ever to hang out with in real life. I want him as a best friend.

So that’s me done, do let me know about your highlights from this year’s SDCC and what your thought of my mine in the comments section below and I’ll see ya on the next blog post, laters! 😀

Me and my love for TV shows!

Howdy ladies and gents, time for another blog post about me, but this time it’s about me and my love for TV. Now TV is something I’ve loved since childhood and it has shaped me into the dude I am today in a lot of ways, but its only in the last few years that it has become an essential part of my life especially in the live-action department. And since I talk mainly about films,  wanted to make a blog post that focused on my TV obsession just to let you know that I do watch it haha. 🙂

Now before we start just wanted to mention that I won’t be talking about cartoons in this post because consider them to be a totally separate entity from live-action shows and if I were to put them in the mix then I’d be writing and debating with myself for ages. Cartoons will have their own separate blog post, eventually. Anyways let’s move on.

Anyways let’s start!

The Early Days

When I saw a child the only stuff I watched was cartoons, that was my life right there. Even when I started to grow up and become a teenager and the people around me started moving on to live-action TV shows I still remained the same. There were a few exceptions like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Kenan and Kel, Moesha, Sister Sister, Malcolm in the Middle, My Wife and Kids and The Amanda Show that are nostalgic and I will always save a soft spot for. But other than those shows, there was never any live-action telly that I liked. However there are only TWO shows that I ever loved in my teen years and they are Hotel Babylon and The IT Crowd. Now Hotel Babylon I found randomly while skimming through TV and it was the first show I got attached to, but around series 3 it got pants and I dropped the show midway through series 4. As for The IT Crowd, that was my first TV obsession and it is the only TV show I’ve ever followed and consistently watched from its inception until the end. One of the funniest and best TV shows I’ll ever know.

My Childhood TV Shows

When I Moved To Uni

It wasn’t until I moved to uni in 2011 when I started to watch TV shows properly. And while it was mainly the one’s that were currently airing at the time, I found this window of TV shows that I never expected to like and now love thanks to the recommendation from friends. I think my first love was Fringe, such an amazing sci-fi show with characters I love and adore. Then there’s Community, the first comedy-based show outside of The IT Crowd I fell in love with that’s to its crazy cast of characters and insanely good parody episodes and pop-culture references. I also decided to re-watch 30 Rock from the beginning and found one of the strangest and most entertaining comedy shows I have ever seen that’s to it’s overly strange and elaborate storylines and cast.

Boardwalk Empire was another show I fell in love with due to its deep stories and characters and long build up to satisfying conclusions. It was also at this point I jumped on the Breaking Bad hype and discovered the incredible TV I’d been missing over the last few years, the incredible adventures of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman were too good to ignore. Game of Thrones was another show I was hooked on thanks to the incredible cast, action and violence and mythology. And I think Sherlock was the other show I became addicted to thanks to the incredibly smart storylines and the lovely Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

My Current Fav TV Shows

These Days

At this current point in time I’m hopping forward and back in time with TV shows. Besides the shows I just mentioned that are still currently airing, I currently am watching: the-okay-but-needs-to-get-better Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I’m on and off with The Walking Dead, a show which I really like but has been hard to watch because of season 4’s rocky introduction. Grimm is a show I really ought to start watching especially after how addicted I was to the last two seasons. In between new shows I’ve been going back to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and discovering that for the first time and loving what I’ve seen so far. Even before Buffy I decided to go a Joss Whedon hype and go through all of his TV stuff and liked Dollhouse, but LOVED Firefly, such a short but incredible sci-fi show with a great cast of characters that remind me a lot of Cowboy Bebop. And yesterday I started a new obsession in the form of Parks and Recreation, it is a bizarre comedy show with a weird premise and funky cast of characters in main and supporting departments, but is what makes it so good. Really liking what I’m seeing so far and I’m only on season two.

Current Watching TV Shows

My All-Time Favourite Shows

  1. Breaking Bad
  2. Fringe
  3. The IT Crowd
  4. Firefly
  5. Hotel Babylon

I know this list isn’t very long but I haven’t seen that much TV and still have much to get through.

My Favourite Currently Airing Shows

  1. Game of Thrones
  2. Boardwalk Empire
  3. Sherlock
