Good day to you ladies and gents, today I return to the world of the internet to blog about some important film news that comes in the form of the 24th James Bond film that will be coming out next year. The following information comes from superherohype:

This morning, Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced that the 24th James Bond film will be titled Spectre! Filming will start on Monday, December 8 for the November 6, 2015 release.

The cast (in the order they were announced) includes Rory Kinnear as Tanner, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as M, Andrew Scott as Denbigh, David Bautista as Mr Hinx, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Léa Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser and, of course, Daniel Craig as 007.

Spectre will be filming at Pinewood London, Mexico City, Rome, Tangier & Erfoud, Morocco, Sölden, Obertilliach and Lake Altausee and Austria. Also, James Bond’s new car in Spectre will be the Aston Martin DB10, created exclusively for the movie.

Commenting on the announcement, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said, “We’re excited to announce Daniel’s fourth installment in the series and thrilled that Sam has taken on the challenge of following on the success of ‘Skyfall’ with ‘Spectre.’”

Written by John Logan and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, the film’s Director of Photography is Hoyte van Hoytema and the Editor is Lee Smith. Production Designer Dennis Gassner returns along with Costume Designer Jany Temime and Composer Thomas Newman. Action Specialist Alexander Witt is the 2nd Unit Director. The Stunt Coordinator is Gary Powell, SFX Supervisor is Chris Corbould, and Visual Effects Supervisor is Steve Begg.

SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) is a fictional global terrorist organization featured in Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels, as well as the films and video games based on those novels. The organization was led by the villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Well this is certainly news worth talking about. Much like a J.J. Abrams or Christopher Nolan film, James Bond films tend to be hidden in secrecy for a while until a major announcement gets made where you find out a certain degree of information that gets you excited. It was certainly the case for Skyfall a few years ago and it looks like Spectre is following suit. Now I’m just going to talk about the specific aspects of the announcement when it comes to the film’s new name and the cast.

The Film’s Title

Spectre, tis a very simple and singular name, but at the same time its effective and sounds kind of sleek and sophisticated. And obviously if you know you Bond films then you know that the title of the film has something to do with the story. I’m not going to make any assumptions because I know I’ll be wrong, but if that terrorist organization are involved then I guess we should expect some really epic and dangerous stuff.

The Cast

The fact that all of the cast from Skyfall are coming back is a great thing. The only veterans returning to this film that are part of this series of Bond films are Craig and Kinnear as Fiennes, Harris and Whishaw were all introduced in the last film. The new cast additions make me smile I think mainly due to the additions of Christoph Waltz and Dave Bautista. Christoph Waltz has yet to star in a film I haven’t liked him in yet and since his great work with Quintin Tarantino, it just makes me want to see him in everything and it seems perfect to put him in a Bond film especially if he is the main villain. And then there’s Bautista as Mr. Hinx which I have to say is a great and funny little name for him. I love that Bautista has gone from being in something as questionable as The Man With The Iron Fists to Guardians of the Galaxy and now a James Bond film, he must be filling pretty chuffed. I would be friggin over to moon to be climbing the ladder into such big Hollywood films in such a short space of time. I think Andrew Scott’s name was the one that threw me, until I saw his face and remembered that he was the brilliant actor who played Jim Moriarty in Sherlock, just his performance in that show alone makes me so hyped to see what he’ll do in this film. Léa Seydoux, according to her filmography I have seen in at least two major films, Inglorious Basterds and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, both are films that I love, but are also films I haven’t seen in a while, but it seems like she is a great actress from what I’ve read so I’m down with her. Also Monica Bellucci, damn, she may be primarily a model and models don’t tend to make for the best actresses (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), however she is gorgeous and has had a fair amount of film experience since the 90’s and so her inclusion doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

In the end this news make me smile and makes me hyped for the next instalment in the Bond franchise. Currently for films of 2015 there are only two films that have my attention; Avengers 2 and Star Wars: Episode VII. All other films pale in comparison and none of them have given me the same level of hype and anticipation, however I think Spectre may change the game a bit. We’ll have to wait and see,

So what are your thoughts on this announcement, please be sure comment below and let me know. Laters! 😀

Christoph Waltz Reportedly Playing Ernst Stavro Blofeld in Bond 24

Howdy ladies and gents, I return today will some more film news. A little while ago it was made known that Christoph Waltz would be rumored to be in the next James Bond film. Now there is a new bit of news relating to Waltz’s involvement in the film. The following information comes from superherohype:

waltz-blofeld

Just two weeks after initially reporting that two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz would play the main antagonist in the upcoming Bond 24, The Daily Mail is back and reports that Waltz will play none other than James Bond’s nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Production is expected to begin on the sequel next month.

It was revealed over a year ago that MGM had settled with writer Kevin McClory regarding the rights to the Blofeld character and the infamous SPECTRE organization, which sparked rumors they could appear in future films, and now it appears that could be a reality. Blofeld has been heard or seen in six of the previous James Bond films and was previously played by Donald Pleasence, Telly Savalas and Charles Gray.

Set for release on November 6, 2015, the Bond 24 will see Waltz join Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw and Dave Bautista. Sam Mendes returns to direct the film, which is produced by Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.

Okay, so I was already reported that Walt would be in this film, which already had my approval and now he’s set to play an iconic villain from the past? That’s pretty cool. Ernst Stavro Blofeld isn’t exactly one of my favourite Bond villains and I’ve only seen him in You Only Live Twice, I’m more of Goldfinger, Jaws and Oddjob kind of guy. But the villain is classic and if you want to get a great actor to play him, Waltz is not a bad choice at all. Good stuff, if this proves to be official, then I’ll be super happy.

Anyways, how do you feel about this reported news? Whatever your thoughts are, be sure to leave them below, laters! 😀

BIG NEWS PART 2: Dave Bautista Is Apparently Joining The Cast Of Bond 24!

Howdy ladies and gents, this is second part of my big news stories of the last few days, so today I want to talk about a smaller, yet still relevant story in the world of film. The following information comes from superherohype:

Dave+Batista+on+Kimmel+4jhTgl-GRBhx

Back in August, the rumor broke that Sam Mendes’James Bond 24 was looking to cast an “iconic henchman.” Now, Latino-Review reports that role has been filled by none other than Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista!

“Whoever wins the role,” reported MI-6 in the initial rumor,“will have several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film and also a driving sequence. Former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone ‘very unusual’… The goal is to find the next Jaws or Oddjob – a henchman so different to anything that has gone before that they will become instantly iconic in the film series.”

The same report suggested that the character was going by the name (or codename) Hinx behind the scenes, but that that name could potentially change prior to production.

Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw are returning for the 24thBond installment, which will again be directed by Skyfall helmer Sam Mendes. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson will produce. Lea Seydoux is also reportedly joining the cast as a new femme fatale.

Still without an official title, Bond 24 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 6, 2015.

I came across this story a few days ago and I had to check it twice just to see if it was real or not and while there is no official word from Same Mendes or anyone at the studio about whether this is real or not, one can assume that it is more than just a rumour, and if so then WELL DONE Bautista (or Batista, the internet likes to change his name on different sites)! This guy has advanced so far in the last five years, but clearly he is making the right choices and being Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy has definitely helped raise his profile in the world of Hollywood and if he does become someone of villain status in the new Bond film then that would be awesome. Bautista definitely has the frame and look for a good villian, that being said if it requires acting, it is going to be a different story since Bautista is still learning, that and he has to follow up Javier Bardem’s Raoul Silva in Skyfall in 2012. Either way I can’t wait to see how he comes into play in this new film.

So what do you think of this news? Be sure to comment below and let me know! 😀
