Howdy people of the internet, with Marvel’s Jessica Jones coming out in just under three weeks time I thought I should give my super quick thoughts on the official trailer that came out a few weeks ago. I would have done it sooner but I’ve been super lazy haha. 😛
Anyway here’s the trailer:
So what do I think after seeing this trailer? I’m ready for this show, bring it on!
I’ve been wanting to see footage from this show for AGES since all those set photos started getting released, and while the small teasers recently have been good leading up to this trailer, it wasn’t enough for me, but this trailer finally scratches my itch for visual footage on Jessica Jones and it is looking pretty cool.
This trailer gives us a pretty good idea as to who Jessica is by showing us:
- She has superpowers as you can see from her jumping real high, hitting real hard when it comes to beating up guys or making a dent a subway train window and stopping the moving car.
- She’s a private investigator.
- She likes to drink.
- And she’s got a troubled past involving a mysterious man who messed her up psychologically (Killgrave, aka the Purple Man).
What I got from this trailer is that Jessica is someone who operates just under the radar so she doesn’t get noticed, however, things change when Luke Cage comes into play and but more so when the main villain Killgrave shows up and causes havoc which requires her to come out oft he shadows and take him out.
Like Daredevil, Jessica Jones seems to be taking the same dark and slightly more mature approach with its tone and stories, and while there hasn’t been as much visual violence on display so far, there are pretty disturbing imagery of people holding guns to their heads and some people hanging themselves in nooses. I’m really liking how intense and dramatic the tone is for this show, it looks like a lot of crazy stuff will go down not only with Jessica but also with Luke, her other associates.
What I liked about this trailer the most was David Tennant’s Killgrave character. He seems like a formidable character who is all sorts of dangerous and has mind-controlling abilities as demonstrated by that one guy who Killgrave convinces to let him into his house. But its the fact that throughout the trailer you hear about the pain he’s caused mentally to several people especially Jessica and that moment with all of the people with the guns to their heads in the police station, I believe that’s his doing and if so that’s a lot of mental power. I just can’t wait to see how this plays out.
In conclusion the official trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones looks pretty cool. I’ve been interesting in this show for the longest time, but having actual footage to work with increases the hype levels a fair amount. Jessica’s adventures in Hell’s Kitchen look like they will be aggressive, dark and messed up, and I’m hoping that those stories will be as captivating as I’m hoping they’ll be.
So have you seen the official trailer for Marvel’s Jessica Jones and if so so what do you think of it? Please leave your comments below and I’ll see ya on the next blog post, laters. 🙂
