Good day to you ladies and gents, time for some more Marvel news. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been doing pretty well this season and it looks like the show will be tying into the MCU again in 2015. The following information comes from superherohype:
Surprising no one, EW is reporting that a future episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.EL.D.” will tie into Marvel Studios’ next big release, Avengers: Age of Ultron. The film doesn’t debut in theaters until May 1, 2015, but that lines up perfectly with what will be the remaining episodes of the series’ sophomore season.
“You should expect something,” executive producer Jed Whedon tells the outlet. “The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we’re included in that.”
The series has previously tied in to both Thor: The Dark World, albeit for one episode, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which rocked the entire series to its core.
“I don’t think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did,” executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen says, “but there will be connections.”
I don’t think this was unexpected, AoS is a show that is part of a shared universe where things that happen in the films affect the TV show and vice-versa (but not so much on the latter), so for this show to tie into Avengers 2 isn’t too surprising but it is still a cool thing to hear. Now one just has to figure out what the connection will be. Will the show be connecting with the whole “Age of Miracles” aspect of Avengers 2 with Baron Von Strucker and the Maximoff twins or possibly something to do with the Inhumans that this show has been hinting at or maybe something else? Whatever it is I’m down for it. Some complain about the fact AoS is attached to MCU which means there isn’t much creative leeway for creative freedom and while that it true to a degree, at the same time, if the writers behind the show know their comic book source material, then they know that there are plenty of stories and scenarios to create that don’t have to directly tie-in with the film universe.
Anyway what do you think of this news? Please be sure to comment below and let me know. Laters. 😀
