Good day to you ladies and gents, today I am delivering the first of a few news stories from the world of film. Now recently the teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy has had the internet buzzing about Marvel Studios’ next big film and now we have some more material to see with the new poster that debuted and five new featurettes.
First here’s the new poster:
I think it looks pretty kick ass, the colour scheme, dramatic lighting and character poses look dynamic and different from conventional superhero films. It definitely gives off a sci-fi vibe fused together with a hint of adventure. And that line on the bottom, “You’re welcome.” So bloody cheeky, I love it. This film’s sense of humour is expanding beyond the film into the promotional posters too? Lovely. This film is embracing its bizarre nature and I’m all over it.
Now for those character featurettes:
Basically these videos just show off the cast members talking about their characters along with clips from the film and some behind-the-scenes footage. Most of it is okay, but the most interesting is Rocket Raccoon just because we finally get to hear just a tiny bit of Bradley Cooper’s voice for the character which confirms that he won’t have an English accent. I didn’t think the film adaptation of Rocket would have an English accent but I’m not gonna lose sleep over it,
Overall I’m happy that this film is really starting to spread itself around and getting the marketing out there to the people unfamiliar with the comic book source material. While I believe that the Super Bowl would have been the perfect place to shows this off properly, it seems like now is the time when GotG showing itself off to the world. This film could go either way for Marvel Studios, but I pray that it works. If Marvel can make this work then they’ll be invincible.
