Promotional Art for Guardians of the Galaxy Debuts

Okay time for some more comic book news and this is some nice stuff as it is related to some visual material from Guardians of the Galaxy. The following info comes from superherohype:

Guard the Galaxy (via CBM) has been given a series of images from Zak! Designs of several items the company will be producing in conjunction with Marvel Studio’s upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy, which you can check out below.

Guardians of the Galaxy features an unlikely cast of characters who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. The August 1, 2014 release stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou, Gregg Henry, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly.”

You can see the following images below:

Well what I’m getting from this is that they’re really starting to push Rocket Raccoon to the forefront in their marketing. And to be honest that’s a bloody good thing. If Marvel want this film to work then they’re gonna have to work their butts off to convince the public that these are characters that they should give a shit about. And if this is the kind of stuff they have in store then they’re on the right track. As for the art itself I’m glad we have new stuff to look at and i think it looks pretty good. Rocket looks badass and aggressive, while the other characters like Groot and Star-Lord look pretty cool. I’m still a bit iffy with Gamora and Drax, they look alright, but I wish that they have more make-up to make them look a bit more alien-based, but whatever I’m sure they’ll look a lot better in the film.
