Hello to all who may be reading this, time for another film news update and this relates to one of the actors rumoured to be involved with Marvel’s Ant-Man. Just recently Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd were speculated to be frontrunners for the role and now JGL has spoken about in a recent interview. The following information comes from IGN:
“Earlier this week, it was rumored that Marvel’s Ant-Man casting was down to just two actors: Paul Rudd and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. More recently, however, JGL denied those claims (at least for his part).
“You know I’m very transparent when there is news in my career,” the Don Jon star told the French edition of the Huffington Post. “I’m always the first to tell my fans if there’s really something happening, so if you don’t hear it from me, it’s just people spouting out rumors.”
Of course, this isn’t a flat-out denial, per se, but it does seem to quash any rumors of Gordon-Levitt’s involvement thus far. (The actor also told the French-language AlloCine that reports of him passing some Ant-Man tests were untrue.) Still, it sounds like Rudd may now have the upper hand in joining director Edgar Wright‘s superhero pic.”
Well this is interesting. I mean he’s basically saying if there is an announcement about any film role he’ll confirm it himself, so one could assume that he’s not actually going for the role. But just like the IGN writer said, he didn’t say no specifically. So right now loads of people are look to Paul Rudd as the title character and to be honest that wouldn’t be too bad because I think he has the look and more comedic film background from what I’ve seen. Though I wouldn’t mind if there were other actors up for the role in the shadows to make things more interesting. 🙂
